Van der Schuur was published after the separation between the
Roman-Catholic Church and the Old-Catholic Church. The Reformed
Churches had their State Bible, the Roman Catholics had their
'Leuvense' Bible and the Old-Catholics used this translation
from Van der Schuur, which was praised because the poetic language
and its literature value.
