Book: "De Kleine Print-Bijbel"
or 'The Little Print-Bible' was a book with a special purpose.
Please notice its goal written on the first page: "For
the enjoyment of the youth, and to learn every thing by accurate
sketches and by using the correct name (or word?), also to
bring the Proverbs of the Holy Scriptures to mind without
effort."
The system used was very nicely. By the use of words
and drawings, rebuses (word puzzles) actually, one can easily
find what was represented. The answer was given at the bottom
of every page. To be honest... after all this time the system
still works! It is still addictive to try to find out what
is written - look for yourself...
