Matthew Henry - Dr. H Bavinck
Matthew Henry (October 18, 1662 – June 22, 1714),
was an English non-conformist clergyman. He is well known
because of his "Exposition of the Old and New Testaments",
a commentary covering the whole of the Old Testament, and
the Gospels and Acts in the New Testament. Matthew Henry's
six volume Complete Commentary provides an exhaustive verse
by verse study of the Bible. His commentaries are used in
many English Bibles.

Dr. H. Bavinck (December 13, 1854 - July 29, 1921) was
the translator of this book that we are pleased to display
here. After his theological studies he received his doctorate
in 1880. He was the Reformed Minister of Franeker from 1881
till 1883. In 1882 he was appointed to be a teacher at the
Theological School of Kampen. In 1902 he transfered to the
VU University of Amsterdam.
