Who we are and a little history about the website
….
We are a group of friends who have worked together
to produce this website. Obviously, we are practicing
Christians and strong believing Bible students. In
spite of the fact that we have a religious belief
which is important to us, our Web site is not sponsored
or authorized by any particular religion. We endeavour
to make our website as neutral as possible. The name
of God goes beyond the frontiers of religion.
The main aim of our Website is "showing".
We very much want to ‘show’ or bring to
the attention of the reader where God’s name
can be found in various places worldwide. To do this
we reproduce many documents and photos relating to
archaeology, architecture, Bibles and other literature,
remarkable objects, coins, items of museums, music
and much more. Our aim is to provide evidence that
the name of God has been used and known far and wide
over the course of time, now and in the past. The
name of God, on the other hand is not so much known
or used today as it was in the past. Over the course
of history there are those who have tried to erase
God’s name. Our study of the Bible and Biblical
literature and our consultation of resources and experts
in the field of the Hebrew language has made it possible
to create our page "what Explanation”.
The website started in December 2006 as an initiative
of two friends – Danny and Mario. Danny knew
Christa, who was already collecting items like Bibles
and photos in connection to the name of God. Mario
knew Joos who for many years was a collector and a
walking encyclopedia in the field of poetry. Soon
we came in contact with Christiaan who had a love
for coins depicting God’s name. These 5 friends
live in Belgium. Having first started to produce a
website in Dutch, it soon became a desire to publish
in other languages. We are pleased to present the
website in English and French. Andrea, Francine and
Hugues assist us in these languages.
We have a subdivision in the areas of the website.
Danny is responsible for the books and the photos
all over the world. Christa takes care of the Bibles.
She is also diligently busy in our secretarial work.
For example, it is necessary to obtain permission
from the photographers in question and the owners
of the item, if the items reproduce are not already
available in the public domain. Joos takes care of
the poets. Christian takes care of the coins. Mario
places everything as webmaster, coordinates the items
and answers e-mails or passes them on to another team
member to answer. As regard the other languages, for
the English website is Andrea (UK) professionally
taking care of our English proof reading and correction.
For the French language we count on Francine (Wallonia)
and Hugues (France). However, assignments are not
strictly defined. In practice, we all cooperate in
a friendly atmosphere to work together on everything.
We are all always looking for new items. We all do
research. We all take pictures of buildings with the
name of God. We have to give Thanks to the voluntary
team for all their hard work!
The above list, however, is only a short summary
of how we obtain our items for the website. Many items
were sent to us by friends, acquaintances, and also
visitors to the website. Actually all of you readers
are our freelance employees. To you all we have a
clear message: THANK YOU VERY MUCH! Without you would
there be a lot that we are not able to show! You have
also sent us a lot of material that we are not able
to show for various reasons, for example, because
of copyright etc. Still, we thank you very much for
sending us these items. New items are of course still
welcome.
