The Boston Academy of
Music, an institution for higher education, was founded in 1833
by Lowell Mason and George James Webb. It was the first music
school of its kind in the USA. Lowell Mason (see elsewhere on
this page) was an American composer and music teacher. Georg
James Webb (1803-1887) was a British - American composer.
In 1836 the institution published a book with music sheets.
One song was dedicated to God. The title of the song was:
'Assign to Jehovah', based on Psalm 29 (digitalized by Google)
