Berg-Kampenhout - Sint-Servatiuskerk

City: Berg is a suburb within Kampenhout, in the province of Flamish Brabant. The area of Berg, home to about 898 inhabitants (2006), is 889 ha. On Kampenhout's website it states: "Kampenhout is located in the centre of the triangle formed by Brussels-Mechelen-Leuven, an area reknowned for the chicory plant in the lowland of Brabant of which the highest point above sea level is 17 meters, located besides the canal of Leuven-Dijle, and the stone roads of Leuven-Mechelen and Brussels-Haacht. The many listed buildings, monuments and landscapes bear witness to the rich historical past of this former medieval village with its registered office of the head bailiff. Here the visitor can take beautiful walks along old farms and castles... ".

Building: church Sint-Servatius

The current parish church of Berg was built around 1800 on the same site where a previous church stood since 1142. The architectural style of the church is called neoclassicism.

Object: On the tabernacle of the altar is a graceful image. Amongst other images we see a lamb lying on a book with seven seals. This is a reference to the Bible book of Revelation (Revelation Chapter 5 verse 6-8). The lamb presents Jesus Christ. Above the lamb the name of God is placed within a radiant triangle.
