Town: "Diepenbeek on the river
Demer does not claim to have everything, however as you will
see, it should be experienced. There are many areas of green,
where one can freewheel along well equipped bike paths and
historic buildings which have a wealth of history in their
vaults... You can smell the scent of the countryside. You
can feel the attraction of the region Campine, near the fertile
Hesbaye. But you can also sense the dynamics that the university
gives to Diepenbeek. " - Taken from the brochure 'Diepenbeek
- Rope Dancing at the Demer.

Building: St. Servatius Church
The Saint Servatius Church can be found in the marketplace.
The current classical church with its Gothic tower replaces
a Romanesque building from the mid 11th century. The church
dates from 1777. The church tower dates from the late 15th
century and has been a protected monument since 1938.
God’s name: The Divine name is
twice represented in this church in the form of the Tetragrammaton.
The first time it is found inside a triangle surrounded by
clouds. The second time it is in a painting, although there
is some artistic freedom in this instance.
