Dison - église St. Fiacre

City: Dison (in French: Dizon) is a town 20 km east of Luik. The town is home to 14,527 inhabitants (2008) and has two sides to its character, as a city town and as a countryside town. 63% of the territory is agricultural land.

Building: église St. Fiacre

The present Church, built on the site of a previous church, was built in 1852. The Church is spoken about as a silent witness to the industrial revival of Dison in the 19th century. The style of the Church has been described as neo-roman with a neo-gothic influence. The tower is 47 metres high.

Object: in the church there are some beautiful stained-glass windows. On two of the stained-glass windows in the choir stand, built by Charles Levêque in 1870, the Divine name can be seen. On the first window we can see the 12-year-old Jesus while he was in the temple talking to the teachers. God's name is shown here as ' Jehovah '. On a different window we can see the high priest with a part of God's name on his headgear.
