Zedelgem - St. Laurentiuskerk

City: Zedelgem belongs to the region of 'Bruges Ommeland'. With a total surface area of 6000 ha and about 22,000 inhabitants this municipality is the largest of the Bruges Ommeland in both respects of area and population. Zedelgem is a town and municipality in the Belgian province of West-Flanders. It is located about 12 km from the centre of Bruges and 27 km from Ostend.

 

Building: St. Laurentiuskerk (St. Lawrence church)

The Church which is at the centre of Zedelgem is today a mixture of different styles. The gothic tower dates back to the 14th century. The three-aisled Interior, built in the neo-classic style, is from the 19th century. The three porch altars, made in 17th century, are baroque.

 

Object: in the Church is a rare tabernacle with a presentation tower. On it God's name can be seen.
