Quebec - basilica Sainte-Anne-de-Beaupré

City: Quebec is the capital city of the province of Quebec in Canada. It was officially founded as a permanent settlement in the French colony New-France on July 3, 1608 by Samuel de Champlain. However, Native Americans had already been living in the area around Quebec for a long time. The city experienced a long period of strife between France and Britain. After the Treaty of Paris in 1763 the city was formally transferred to Britain.

Building: Sainte-Anne-de-Beaupré is a basilica at the junction of the Saint Anne river with the St Lawrence, 35 kilometres north-east of the city of Quebec. This Catholic church has been altered many times. The first basilica came into use in 1876. The current basilica was built in 1926.

Object: God's name, written as ‘Jahve’ can be seen on the ceiling.
