and Argentina. Geographically Chile is between the Pacific
Ocean and the Andes mountain range. Approximately 52,7% (8.8
million) of the population are from European descent (Spanish,
German, Swiss, French, British and Croatians), 44% are mixed
race (often Spanish or Portuguese father and a native American
mother, or vice versa) and 3.2% of the population are Indians.
There are a total of 16.601.707 people living there. 70% of
them claim to be Catholic, 15.1% Protestant.
