Prague - Old-New Synagogue

City: Prague is the capital and largest city of the Czech Republic. The nickname of Prague is "Golden City", a reference to the beautiful homes and buildings in the city. The historic centre is also placed on the World Heritage list. The city, situated on the River Vltava, has 1,233,211 inhabitants.

Building: The Old New Synagogue in Josefov, Prague is Europe's oldest active synagogue. Completed in 1270 in gothic style, it was one of Prague's first gothic buildings. When newer synagogues were built in the 16th century, it became known as the Old-New Synagogue. The first picture was taken in 1906.
