City: Vrchlabi is a small town in the
North of the Czech Republic, situated at the foot of the Eastern
Bohemian Giant mountains. Vrchlabí was probably founded
in the 13th century. King Ferdinand granted free city rights
to Vrchlabí on the 6th October 1533. The city became
a mining city up to the 19th century to make room for other
industry sectors. Today there are approximately 13415 inhabitants
(2006) living here.
