Courchaton - église Sainte Marie-Magdeleine

City: Courchaton, a community in the Haute-Saône département, is located at an altitude of 350 meters above sea level about 68 km northeast of Besançon. The village is situated on the Northwest edge of the hills between the valleys of Ognon and Doubs. Half of the area of the Haute-Saône is used as fields and pasture. This is also true of this village surrounded by greenery.

The first time that this place is mentioned was in a charter of 1149, but it should be noted that archaeological excavations show that it was inhabited much earlier than that. Today 446 inhabitants (2006) live here.

Building: église Sainte Marie-Magdeleine. This current village church, originally built in Gothic style in the 16th century, was thoroughly renovated in the 19th century preserving the entrance and Tower of the previous Church.

Object: In the church is a side altar with God's name. The name can be seen on the tabernacle, placed in radiating triangle surrounded by clouds.
