Port-Vendres - église Notre-Dame-de-Bonne-Nouvelle

City: Port-Vendres is a French community near the Spanish border. Port Vendres offers a deep natural harbour, situated on the Mediterranean Sea, a port which has been built up since Roman times. This port is also still important today. One can see fishing boats, but also cargo ships and large cruise ships. In 2004 there were 4,579 residents.

Building: The church Notre-Dame-de-Bonne-Nouvelle was inaugurated in 1888. The style of the church is described as Roman-Byzantine combined with neo-Gothic.

Object: Inside a radiating triangle surround by clouds, it first seems God's name is written. A closer look reveals it to be H H H. Maybe referring to Revelation 4:8: "Holy, holy, holy is the Lord God Almighty, who was, and is, and is to come." – New International Version.
