Bad Bentheim - St. Johannes Baptist-kirche

City: Bad Bentheim is a city in Lower Saxony, Germany, near the border with The Netherlands. As a former capital of the County Bad Bentheim Bentheim’s history goes back a long way. Already in 1116 the Castle of Bentheim is mentioned. Today there are 15,682 inhabitants (2009) living here.


Building: St. Johannes Baptist-kirche

There are quite a few churches in the city, including the Catholic Church, St. Johannes Baptist (St. John the Baptist). This church, made from local sandstone, dates from the year 1676. Inside the church there are a few early Baroque altars.
