City: Fauerbach vor of the Höhe
is a village in Germany, in the federated state of Hessen.
The village lies 7 kilometres northwest of Butzbach, of which
it became a district in 1972. The village is situated in Taunus
mountain range pass in the Wetterau area. It is a beautiful
place to visit. There are approximately 750 people living
in the village.
The history of this site goes back to the time of the
Francs who built a settlement here in the 6th - 7th century.
In 1604 there were 78 families living here specialising in
agriculture and handicrafts. During the Thirty Years' War
they gave up the local wine-growing, but nevertheless the
village remained a farming community up to the end of the
Second World War. Then, due to the expansion resulting from
the war, labour in industrial areas became more popular. However,
Fauerbach is still known by many for the high quality of the
strawberries which are cultivated here.
Bldg.: Dionysius church. The first church
in the village was named on a charter of 1331/1350. In 1536
the reformation commenced and the current evangelical church
was built in 1740/1741. The construction and plasterwork to
the ceiling are baroque.
Object: It is the plasterwork
that especially attracts our attention. Around an eye in a
triangle are written the characters JEHOVA.
