City: Bruinisse is a village in Zeeland
(Netherlands). In 1997 the village was, together with other
municipalities merged into the community of Duiveland. Today
Bruinisse is mainly known for mussel fishing. The local mussel
farmers supply up to a third of all mussels produced in the
Netherlands. On the dam in the fishing port is a statue of
an open mussel!
In Bruinisse live 4,037 people (2010), including many
young families.
