City: Maastricht is a city located in
the South of the province of Limburg. Maastricht is spread
over both sides of the river Meuse. The city has a long history.
Already in the Celtic period (500 years BC) people were living
here. Maastricht is one of the oldest cities in the Netherlands.
It describes itself as an industrial city, a ceramics city,
a University City and a Congress city. In Maastricht there
are literally hundreds of places of interest and monumental
buildings to visit.
