Country: Spain is located
in the South-West of Europe. The country is situated on the
Iberian Peninsula that it shares with Portugal. It is also
true that the name Spain was derived from it as Hispania was
another name for the Iberian Peninsula. Spain used to hold
great power worldwide. The colonies that Spain had worldwide
were numerous. In the field of geography and climate Spain
has a lot to offer: the coast on the Mediterranean Sea, the
valley of Guadalquivir (Seville and Córdoba), the Southwest
Atlantic coast, the Spanish high plateau (Madrid, Castilla-La
Mancha and Castile and León), the Valley of the River
Ebro, the North Atlantic Coast (Galicia, Asturias, Cantabria,
Basque country), the Pyrenees and the Canary Islands. Religiously,
the country is divided into: 70.5% Roman Catholics, 0.2% Protestants,
2.3% Muslim, 0.4% (other) religions and 26.6% claim to have
no religion.
