Country: Sweden is a country in Scandinavia,
in the North of Europe. The neighbouring countries of Sweden
are Norway and Finland. The country is 449,964 kilometres
wide and has 9,059,651 inhabitants. To give an idea of the
size: it is 11 times the size of the Netherlands and 15 times
the size of Belgium. The country is for the most part covered
with coniferous forests, particularly in the North. In the
South and the East the country is mostly flat. The area adjacent
to Norway shows more land relief. It is striking that this
beautiful country has more than 96,000 lakes!
The largest religion in Sweden is the Swedish Evangelical
Lutheran Church which claims 72,9% of the population as its
adherents.
