City: Enånger is a place in the
Swedish province of Gävleborg län, found in the
middle of Sweden on the east side, 8 kilometers from the Baltic
Sea. This place is described as a picturesque with pleasant
surroundings. There are 710 inhabitants in Enånger in
an area of 1.42 km². Historically, Enånger was
an important port for import and export, especially salt.
Hudiksvall, to which Enånger belongs, is a city
which as an area of no less than 4538.8 km². The city
obtained its city rights in 1582 from Johann III of Sweden.
Today the city is a centre of industry.
Building: Gamla kyrka (Old church)
The previous church on this site, built around the year
1200, was replaced in the 1400s by the current church. The
paintings in the vaults are regarded to be one of the most
valuable examples of late-medieval monumental painting in
Sweden. These paintings date back to 1470-1480.
