Landa (Kungsbacka) - Kyrka

City: Landa is found in the south of Sweden, in the province of Halland. This place is situated 3 km north of Varberg and 4 km east of Åsa. Landa is more commonly described as a parish belonging to the municipality Kunsbacka. The territory of the current municipality Kunsbacka, to which the city Kunsbacka also belongs, is one of the largest municipalities of Sweden in respect of surface area. The whole territory amounts to no less than 610 km². There are 73,709 inhabitants (2009) living within this area. Kungsbacka belonged to Denmark up until the treaty of Brömsebro in 1645.

In Landa there are 955 inhabitants (2009).

Building: it is presumed that the church was built around the year 1200. Halland belonged to Denmark at this time. The building was probably constructed with the aid of Cistercian monks from the abbey. The current church was completed in 1795, after building the tower.

Object: God's name is seen here twice. The first time it appears is on an altarpiece which dates from the beginning of the 17th century. Secondly God’s name is placed inside a ceiling painting. The ceiling paintings are dated 1804 and were produced by P. Hallberg and I.M. Hultgren.
