Lenhovda - parish church

City: Lenhovda is a place in the municipality Uppverdinge, Sweden. There are approximately 1700 inhabitants. The place recommends itself as somewhere where busy people can come and relax. This is guaranteed by the beautiful landscape with forests and many lakes.

 

Building: The neoclassical church in Lenhovda was built in the years 1839 up to 1843 under the orders of Bishop Tegnér who wanted older buildings to be replaced by buildings with this type of construction.


Object: Above the entrance door God’s name is placed inside a radiating golden triangle. The Hebrew characters are clearly visible: JHWH (from right to left).
