Building: The building which we are showing is Läckö slott or castle Läckö. This castle lies on the banks of the island of Kållandsö. Its history goes back to the year 1298 when Bishop Brynolf Algotson raised a stronghold here. This was taken in the 14th century, and then a fire in 1470 destroyed it. In 1478 Bishop Brynolf Gerlachsson subsequently built a castle, with two corner towers. After the coming of the reformation King Gustav Vasa took possession of the beautiful castle. Over time it was owned by many different people. One important one to mention was Earl Jakob De la Gardie. He carried out a vast renovation, which was later continued by his son .

God’s name : The church of the castle was built between 1655 and 1661 by Earl Magnus Gabriel De la Gardie. In the church there are some very old paintings. In the front on the left are two paintings with Gods ‘name in Hebrew.
