Low Ham - Church in the field

City: Low Ham is a village in the County of Somerset, England. Together with the villages of Bowdens, Henley, Paradise and Picts Hill, Low Ham belongs to the civil parish of High Ham. The history of Low Ham goes back at least to the time of the Romans, evidenced by the remains of a Roman villa found here.


Building: In this town stands a church isolated in a field. This church is not dedicated to anyone in particular. Originally the church was a chapel that was part of a mansion. Today, it stand alone in a field, hence the name 'church in the field ". The church was built from 1623 to 1669 and is an example of Gothic Revival.
