Manchester - St. Ann's Church

City: Manchester is a city in England, in the County of Greater Manchester. With its more than 464,200 (2008) inhabitants, it is the 5th largest city in England. Manchester was a leading contender in the world of textiles. This is partly because in the 14th century Flemish weavers settled here. The cotton industry blossomed here. In Australia, New Zealand and South Africa, the word "Manchester" came to be known as a synonym for household linen (sheets, pillowcases, towels ...). During the industrial revolution the cotton industry was the biggest industry in the city. Today The city is a centre for arts, the media, higher education and business-related services.
